Just about everyone has a story to tell when seeking or using mental health, healthcare, justice, or addiction services. People can feel as if they are walking through an unending maze. It’s not just clients, users, or patients; it can also be the professionals trying to help.
Well, some people want to improve that system in Northumberland.
On today’s show, a group of professionals who work in these diverse areas is holding a one-day event to address these issues. They want to break down silos among organizations and institutions to better serve the people they help – that is, you and me.
But they also want to hear from you. That’s right, you. They want to hear from people in Northumberland about what is needed to address shortcomings in the system.
So, on Friday, May 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there is the Come Together Northumberland event at the Cobourg Community Centre on Darcy Street. In the morning, all the professionals working within the numerous organizations and institutions will gather. Then, at 11 a.m., the public is invited.
The Ontario Health Team Northumberland is one of the organizers, along with the Canadian Mental Health Association from our area.
Take a listen and see if you or someone you know might benefit from showing up.
