Northumberland County council took in about $119 million in 2020 and spent $107 million. Those are some pretty big numbers. It also had a surplus of $12 million. And, yet your taxes went up. Do you know where all that money went?
Most residents don’t. Well, we are going to fix that on today’s show. Jennifer Moore, the chief administrative officer for the county, will explain all that and more.
The county’s annual report for 2020 was recently released. It contains all the details of what the county does with your tax dollars, plus the money it gets from other levels of government. She will also tell us what is going on with affordable housing, economic development, and efforts to save the tourism industry. By the end, you should better understand what the county has been up to for the past year.
