Alderville First Nations Chief Simpson says the Alto High Speed Rail project is a concern due to a lack of meaningful consultation and unclear benefits for the treaty territory. A proposal to run the high-speed rail through the Hastings and Campbellford areas of Trent Hills has the local municipal council and many residents sharing the same concerns.
In this interview, he also discussed the Northumberland County Roads Project, in which Alderville is collaborating with the county to improve County Road 45 through the community by adding sidewalks, turning lanes, and safer infrastructure.
The conversation included updates about two centenarians and ended with discussions about upcoming community events and announcements.
