With the merger of the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit and Peterborough Public Health in January, health officials unveiled a new logo and name, signifying a new beginning of public health in the region.
The Lakelands Public Health Unit will encompass the City of Kawartha Lakes, City and County of Peterborough, Haliburton County, and Northumberland County.
Dr. Thomas Piggott, Medical Officer of Health and Chief Executive Officer of Lakelands Public Health, says the residents can expect the same level of public health as before, as the organization launches a new online survey to drive priorities, which will be used to develop a strategic plan.
