
It is called the Putting Student Achievement First Act. Otherwise, it is known as Bill 101. It will make sweeping changes to how school boards are run. It will dictate everything from the number of trustees and how much they are paid to how much the school board spends. And it is introducing a new position aimed at tighter fiscal controls.
In this interview, Paul Brown, chairperson of the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board, will review past changes and reflect on what lies ahead, especially in light of the proposed legislation.
