Former Port Hope Councillor will be memorialized by adding his name to Kinsmen Park.
Port Hope council unanimously recommended the creation of Jeff Lees Memorial Kinsmen Park at its June 2 meeting. The parkland is located on Mill Street next to the Ganaraska River, north of Walton Street.
The town received a request from the former Kinsmen Club to name this park Jeff Lees Park, as he was a member of the club for 30 years.
Staff will work with community members and the Lees family to develop appropriate on-site signage to honour Jeff Lees.
Listen to the recommendation and discussion:
In Their Words is a feature that allows people to listen to what is going on at the various councils within Northumberland. No spin. No opinions. No one is telling you what to think. Just what was said.
It is a chance you might not have otherwise to hear directly from your elected representatives. I hope you find it useful and informative.
