With three Stanley Cups to his name and two world ice hockey championships, Justin Williams is now in his hometown’s sports hall of fame.
Surrounded by family, friends, and supporters on Friday evening, Williams, who played in the NHL for 19 seasons with three different organizations, humbly accepted induction, alongside seven other people who made significant contributions to sports in Northumberland County.
Despite not living in Cobourg for 25 years, Williams, in his acceptance speech, said he is proud to be from Cobourg and still calls it home.
When he is back home, Williams either conducts youth hockey camps or fundraises through his foundation for community causes.
