A Cobourg recreational vehicle enthusiast has launched a petition, seeking support from residents to remove existing and proposed zoning restrictions on the parking of RVs and watercraft on private residential properties.
Maria Papaioannoy says there is already a local bylaw prohibiting RV parking on public roads and that the proposed six-metre length limit is unworkable, given the average length of an RV is more than 30 feet.
She adds that a resident can’t change a zoning variance and that the municipality’s position is punitive. Papaioannoy is set to go before Cobourg Council on Wednesday with her proposed solutions.
