A library north of Port Hope is experiencing low use. Hence, the Port Hope Public Library conducted a two-month public engagement study to determine why the Hub Branch in Canton is experiencing low user rates.
The findings of the surveys and engagement sessions were presented to Port Hope Municipal council this week, explaining that the public is aware of the services and programs provided at the Hub Branch, why library users attend the facility, and possible remedies to increase broader participation.
Gemma Sim, a library board member, stated there are significant opportunities to increase the exposure of the Hub in Canton and to promote its future use.
