After advocating for years to municipal governments in Northumberland County to recognize the contributions Black people have made to the area, Angela Grogan is on a personal journey to educate the public and showcase Black history.
Grogan credits her efforts in getting Port Hope to raise the Pan-African Flag in 2024, followed soon after by Northumberland County and the Town of Cobourg. Grogan says many Black families established roots across the county, farming and becoming entrepreneurs.
She has a podcast series featuring one Black person each day in February during Black History Month.
