
More than 100,000 people will suffer a stroke in a year, according to 2025 statistics from the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. About one million people are currently living with the effects of a stroke.
Kate Zimmerman, Vice-President of Integrated Care and Chief Nursing Executive, will talk about a new stroke clinic that recently opened at Northumberland Hills Hospital. It will provide services three days a week to help people recovering from a stroke. Until now, most people had to leave Northumberland to receive ongoing care. With the local clinic, it hopes to address these needs closer to home.
