
Hamilton Township council will send Robert Gibson, former township representative to the West Northumberland physician recruitment and retention board, to the Northumberland County Physician Recruitment Advisory Committee.
The recruitment advisory committee is part of Northumberland County’s initiative to oversee doctor recruitment. The county approved about $250,000 per year over the next two years as a pilot to accelerate physician recruitment.
Council received a letter from the former West Northumberland Physician and Recruitment and Retention Board, which is being dissolved and replaced by the new initiative.
There are three municipally-sponsored doctor recruitment bodies in Northumberland County: West Northumberland, Campbellford Memorial Hospital, and Brighton. Each one is being asked to participate in the county-wide program.
