The operational model proposed for 310 Division Street drew a lot of questions for staff as politicians reviewed a new model at the Social Services Committee meeting on July 30.
The most significant point of concern was getting clear definitions of low, medium, high, and higher needs clients. Also, politicians were interested in how clients would be assessed. Staff were asked to explore the V-SPDAT as a potential tool.
Cobourg Mayor Lucas Cleveland sent some questions related to definitions, assessment tools, and other details. He also wanted to know how the space for the former warming/cooling hub would be used.
There was also a request to ensure the facility will continue to meet the Emergency Care Establishment bylaw.
There were several other reports presented to the committee. A business pulse study was given, and a data report.
Staff will make the requested changes for additional information. The reports will be presented to the full council at its regular meeting on Aug. 13.
In Their Words is a feature that allows people to listen to what is going on at the various councils within Northumberland. No spin. No opinions. No one is telling you what to think. Just what was said.
It is a chance you might not have otherwise to hear directly from your elected representatives. I hope you find it useful and informative.
