An emotional, yet fitting tribute to a former minor hockey player, whose love and passion for the game will forever be memorialized in Cobourg.
Grace Bowen, who died in 2015, from a rare form of bone cancer, had her legacy stamped on Northumberland County, with an arena named after her.
The Bowen family received star power help in making this happen, as well as a friendship with actor Ryan Reynolds, who advocates for and supports sick children.
Since their first meeting more than a decade ago, he says, it has changed his life for the better.
Despite renaming the ice to the Grace Bowen Arena, her father, Greg, remembers her fondly at the rink.
