
March was a busy month for the Northumberland Land Trust. Two recent acquisitions were announced as the group continues to preserve significant land and habitat in the county.
In this interview, you will learn about these two properties. One is a 57-acre site near Roseneath and the other is a 70-acre site near Centreton. Amanda Newell, executive director for the land trust, will explain their ecological significance. She will also talk about the pressures to develop land versus preserving it. This is especially important as the proposed Wesleyville nuclear power plant and the proposed high-speed rail are under consideration in Northumberland.
