A new one-million-gallon water tower is now pumping fresh H2O to homes and businesses in Cobourg. Officially labeled the Elevated Tank and Booster Pumping Station, the second such tower in Canada will distribute nearly 2000 gallons per minute through three pumps.
The tower is also equipped with a decorative lighting system that allows it to be illuminated in any color for special occasions.
Cobourg Mayor Lucas Cleveland and other community leaders praised the multi-million dollar project as vital to Cobourg’s growth and prosperity. Cleveland said the project, which started four years ago, was on time and on budget.
