
Virtual reality is often associated with gaming. But a partnership between the Northumberland Manufacturers Association and nVenture has launched a pilot to use this technology to help hire workers.
Turnover in factory jobs is very high. Many leave the job within 90 days. It is costly for the employer and discouraging for workers. Many leave because they don’t understand what is expected once they are hired.
Using virtual reality, potential employees can now experience what it is like on the job. They can decide before they are hired whether it is a good fit. It will literally save employers tens of thousands of dollars and give workers a better understanding of what is expected.
