A 200-year-old church in Cobourg is facing significant financial troubles and may have to close next year.
A recent audit reveals the extent of the financial difficulties facing the Trinity United Church.
Christine Rabey, the Secretary of the Stewardship Committee at the church, says if all their assets are sold, the church may extend into 2027.
She notes that leadership is strategizing to stabilize and increase revenues.
The church is running an outreach campaign to inform the community about the services offered and the venues available for rent.
Several Christmas activities are planned, hoping to raise donations.
