Cobourg is getting set to host Parkinson Canada’s Superwalk, slated for the waterfront on September 7.
Last year, the 33 locations across Canada raised approximately $3 million for research and support for those diagnosed with the disease and for their caregivers.
People with mobility issues can create a “Walk Your Way” so they can be involved. Besides the main event, others may want to customize their own walking experience using the “Walk in a Box”, which includes pledge forms, bandanas, and other SuperWalk swag to help make your walk day memorable.
Caroline Thornton, who is an Ambassador for Parkinson Canada, is currently living with the disease and was diagnosed years ago. She is very passionate about the disease and why the fundraiser is so important.
