Local businessman Manfred Schumann wrote a letter to the editor regarding my column.
“In his recent column ( “How long will Northumberland residents put up with being frustrated, ignored?”,Northumberland Today,June 30), Robert Washburn expressed his concern with our ‘political system’s survival’ within his interpretation of its ‘level of subjugation’, whatever he means by that.
In his observations he notes that the “complex phenomenon of political violence” has its indicators appearing all around us, including at the municipal level, the most local of all. He contends that Northumberland residents feel “frustrated and ignored” and that a “reckoning may be in the works”, noting the impending election this October.”
