Renovations and upgrades at the Harwood Memorial Hall are attempting to make the facility more user-friendly.
A $35,000 Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant was recently used to construct an accessibility ramp.
The group is now seeking approximately $200,000 to upgrade the washrooms.
Jay Chatten, the organization’s chairperson, says the proposed upgrades are designed to accommodate everyone.
The building did not initially include washroom facilities when it was constructed in the 1940s.
The Harwood Memorial Hall hosts celebrations, daily daycare, yoga, and other activities throughout the month.
They recently petitioned Hamilton Township for a grant to replace their aging chairs.
