She has studied parental vaccine hesitancy in great depth. Her book, Calling the Shots: Why parents reject vaccines, explores the history of vaccine hesitancy, going back to polio, smallpox, measles, and whooping cough. Trio aims to lead efforts to help those in need during COVID-19 crisis in Northumberland
