A Port Hope elementary school teacher, who recently pleaded guilty to child sex crimes, has begun serving her prison sentence.
Justice Nathan Baker issued a four-year prison sentence to Kelly-Anne Jennings on Thursday.
While the Crown got the request it asked for, the defense was asking for a conditional, no jail sentence.
Jennings previously pleaded guilty to luring a minor through telecommunications and child pornography.
Baker said the sentence reflected the severity of Jennings’ crimes, indicating the children who are vulnerable need respect and protection, and not to be used for sexual gratification.
