
The Northumberland County Archives and Museum recently announced its opening exhibit scheduled for this fall. It focuses on the Michi Saagiig language spoken by local First Nations. The interactive display will use this ancient dialect as a pathway to understanding cultural teachings, identity, and traditional knowledge. You will learn how this exhibit came to life and how the local Indigenous community was involved in its creation. The exhibit will be hosted in Northumberland and at the Peterborough Museum and Archives, and will also go on tour to local schools, cultural centres, and other venues.
